Hi,

For the stores where we can find bare computers in France, the non for profit April association has pointed to a page of the site Aful where there is a list of said “good and bad vendors”, where a number of them are classified under criteria that match some requirements for the use with GNU/Linux distributions.

Overclockers sell systems without operating systems. I have one. It was easy to install Ubuntu.

What I would like to find is someone selling laptops or netbooks without an operating system.

it is one thing to state that the os of your choice is up to you but there are no universal drivers for printers, modems, sound cards, svga etc. there needs in those areas to be an alternative to windows or specific debian drivers for the on board hardware. do your tryable systems consider this? add the answer to

you can always just install whatever os you want after buying a computer. or go to ANY local shop that will sell you one without an os.

its not like this is an issue. frankly if you are knowledgeable enough to install your own non windows os, then you probably want something better than a dell anyway.

meaning this argument is kinda pointless.
