Hi,
We have too many customers who report there overclock does not work in their OS once they have installed. All or overclocks have Windows 7 installed and then the HDD formatted after testing.
What we ask customers to do is if you want an overclock but want no OS, let us know what you will be using for OS, and we will test within that OS and leave it on the PC so it is sold as tested.

Alloi Computers seem to have a large range of barebones options. I've never used them so I don't know what their services and products are like. You will find their web site here: http://www.alloi-computers.co.uk/

it is one thing to state that the os of your choice is up to you but there are no universal drivers for printers, modems, sound cards, svga etc. there needs in those areas to be an alternative to windows or specific debian drivers for the on board hardware. do your tryable systems consider this? add the answer to

I used to work for a computer store. There are thousands of complaints on the internet about Melbourne's discount computer shops like MSY, CPL, Scorptec yet they continue to grow adding more stores and taking a bigger market share. The local computer store that charges higher prices but has better returns policy and customer service are the ones closing down.
The computer hardware industry has a huge failure rate even the biggest brands can have failure rates in the 5% range. When someone asks me which brand of computer hardware manufacturer is known for quality I advise them to stop dreaming. Quality is an illusion of statistics even with high failure rates the majority of people can make multiple purchases and have no problems with quality. But if a business is doing 500 orders a week it is certain that a dozen customers will be sold more than one faulty part on one order and over longer periods of say months it is statistically certain that a customer will buy parts for an entire system and have every component fail. Couple that with low margins on sales and these business tend to adopt uncompromising policies.
The bitter reports about these stores is having zero impact, vote with your dollars.

We can do an OC, we just prefer to leave the OS on so you can verify stability and any OS OC settings first.

Only a handful of low spec laptops (mainly netbooks) available without OS.

I have purchased several servers and a few desktops from them. The most recent being a desktop at the end of 2009. They are a pleasure to deal with and every single machine I have bought has worked as required out of the box. The build quality is excellent as is the customer service.

They custom build your machine so don't expect delivery the day after you order. Two weeks is about the norm but it is well worth the wait.

Highly recommended.
