I do not agree.
Only a handful of low spec laptops (mainly netbooks) available without OS.

I have purchased several servers and a few desktops from them. The most recent being a desktop at the end of 2009. They are a pleasure to deal with and every single machine I have bought has worked as required out of the box. The build quality is excellent as is the customer service.

They custom build your machine so don’t expect delivery the day after you order. Two weeks is about the norm but it is well worth the wait.

Highly recommended.

you can always just install whatever os you want after buying a computer. or go to ANY local shop that will sell you one without an os.

its not like this is an issue. frankly if you are knowledgeable enough to install your own non windows os, then you probably want something better than a dell anyway.

meaning this argument is kinda pointless.

Recently bought a naked (and petite!) server PC from Tranquil PC. They’re an outfit based in Manchester specializing in low-power “green” PCs. While most of their range ship with Windows you can buy almost any of their models sans OS. For example, here’s their “barebones server” which always ships “naked”:

And here’s their little fanless Atom N270 based PCs (note the OS dropdown box defaults to “None” :

They used to offer a box with Ubuntu installed by default but dropped that a while back (I guess that most of their customers who want Linux on their machine wish to install it themselves to customize the installation in some fashion).

CPL are garbage. Abysmal service and customer support. Very difficult to negotiate refunds or replacements. Poor quality control. About as bottom-of-the-barrel as you can get.
