I've bought 2 systems from Systemax aka TigerDirect in 3 years and have been very happy with both. Ignore any mention of rebates from *any* retailer, it's a scam.

Hi,

For the stores where we can find bare computers in France, the non for profit April association has pointed to a page of the site Aful where there is a list of said "good and bad vendors", where a number of them are classified under criteria that match some requirements for the use with GNU/Linux distributions.

Alloi Computers do stock a large range of barebones systems, we are even due to get stock of laptops with blueray drives in the next few weeks!

If we don't list what you want, give us a call, we try to be as helpfulas possible.

We will more than happily pre-install any OS of your choice on request.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/

Overclockers sell systems without operating systems. I have one. It was easy to install Ubuntu.

What I would like to find is someone selling laptops or netbooks without an operating system.

Hi,
We have too many customers who report there overclock does not work in their OS once they have installed. All or overclocks have Windows 7 installed and then the HDD formatted after testing.
What we ask customers to do is if you want an overclock but want no OS, let us know what you will be using for OS, and we will test within that OS and leave it on the PC so it is sold as tested.

Alloi Computers seem to have a large range of barebones options. I've never used them so I don't know what their services and products are like. You will find their web site here: http://www.alloi-computers.co.uk/

it is one thing to state that the os of your choice is up to you but there are no universal drivers for printers, modems, sound cards, svga etc. there needs in those areas to be an alternative to windows or specific debian drivers for the on board hardware. do your tryable systems consider this? add the answer to
