The desktops have a default configuration of Ubuntu pre-installed but you can specify full frontal nakedness if you prefer. Other options are OpenSUSE, Fedora and Debian on the desktops and aditionally CentOS and Scientific Linux on the servers.

They lose some naked credibility with this line though: “Please Note: This PC will not function unless an Operating System (OS) is purchased.”. Oh yes it will. I didn’t see any naked laptops, do comment if you find one.

As well as components they sell complete kits to build with nothing more than a screwdriver and a range of pre-built systems. Sadly the pre-built systems come with a non-removable boat anchor of a proprietary operating system. As the kits are not pre-built retail units only an Honourable Mention can be awarded at this time.

Their headline prices are for the naked computer and you can specify a range of proprietary operating systems as optional extras.
